House: Digging a driveway
We have a driveway! Or at least, we have a hardened area for builders to park on!
A local groundworks company that we hired estimated two days for the work, but they managed to do it all in one day. First they dug out 40cm of topsoil, then they laid many tons of broken concrete, then many tons of gravel, before finally compacting it all down.
The owner of the company came back in the evening and kindly moved the topsoil into one large heap in a more suitable place on the building site.
